Riding bike in NYC

This theme is wide and probably one of developing in NYC, especially after CitiBikes have been introduced. Now everyone commutes on a bike.

Except for those, who are on a car.

Long before Citi Bike has become a reality, i’ve tried to get going with healthier commute, specifically – got myself a bike.

Hudson River Greenway

I used to live in Hudson Heights, so my path lie right next to Hudson river. Each morning commute was rewarded by gorgeous view.

Brooklyn

When you live in Bay Ridge it’s too hard to get to work on a bike. It’s far from Manhattan and there are too few bike lanes on the way.

Commuting from Queens

Moving to Queens (LIC) was a good thing. Especially if i go through Williamsburg Bridge instead of Queensboro Bridge.

New office

Our company is moving. Some time ago it was just a rumor, but now it’s already settled and the place is rented. Just need to pack our stuff and get it there, which will take some time.

I haven’t seen the new office yet, but it’s not as convenient as the old one. The reason being – there is no shower. And i need it because riding 8 miles to work, on a bike and not taking shower is just cruel.

Maybe we could get one later, i certainly hope so; and besides, by the time we would move it would be too cold to ride bike anyway, so i am safe for now.

And it is openspace. Yuck.
